I'm back!!!!!

So, it's been months since I've blogged, I'm sure that I've been missed!  Hopefully I'm back and for good.  I'm sure you are dying to know what the Blaylocks have been up to since Halloween 2011 because, yes, that was my last post.  Well the Blaylocks have been busy as usual but a little too busy to have time to blog.  Steven and I have our hands full with Ella Claire and Claudia.  Ella Claire just turned 9 months old and is so very active!  Claudia turned 3 in February and is turning in to a precious little girl!  She is growing up so quickly and has really become a little "momma" to EC.  Please stay tuned for further posts but I'll leave you with a family picture from Easter.

Trick or Treat!

Halloween was a great time this year.  Claudia really understood the concept this year and had a blast!  My church had a fall festival on Sunday night for the kids to dress in their costumes and play "Spooky" Games.  Claudia got prizes and candy, Ella Claire was just cute!  It was a lot of fun!  Claudia was Snow White this year.  For the longest she wouldn't decide what she wanted to be because Halloween "scare me."  I found a really nice Snow White costume and she decided that Snow White was "nice and pretty."  That's her description!  Ella Claire was a Daisy flower and was too precious!!!  We also went Trick or Treating on Monday night with Caroline and Luke.  The kids really racked up on good candy!  Now if I can just stay out of Claudia's treat bag!

Busy little bees

August has been a busy month for us. Even with having a newborn we have actually gotten out and done a lot of things. You know I'm not one for sitting around inside.  Claudia and Ella Claire are going to be this way as well. They both love being outside. Already, if Ella Claire is a little fussy, you can walk outside and she instantly goes quiet. And I mean instantly! It's wonderful!! So we are able to spend a good bit of time outside with her, even in this heat.  After starting and stopping this blog 3 or 4 times, because someone is screaming momma or just screaming in general, I can say that I'm surprised at what all we have time to do and accomplish as a family.  This month Claudia started gymnastics for the first time!  So far she loves it! Because she is under 3, I stay and help her during the class.  Let's just say there is no need for me to work out that day.  I took gymnastics for many years as a child/teenager and loved it.  It's the one thing that I wish I had stuck with all the way through high school.  I hope that Claudia continues to enjoy going and learning.  She's actually good at the beam so far and of course at turning flips.  It's just hard to make her slow down and do it well, she's so excited she gets ahead of herself.  I guess most every 2 year old is this way.  Patience is hard to learn, I haven't yet!

Don't know where she learned "Jazz hands"

Loving her new gymnastics leotard!

Jumping!  These were before her first class and jumping is one of the things she thought she would be doing in class that day.  That's what she told me when I asked her anyway.

We also spent some time at the water splash pad this month as well as lots of time in the pool. Just had a baby or not, I'm getting in the pool- it's August in MS!! As I've said before, Claudia is a little fish and I can't wait to get Ella Claire in the pool next summer! Jeff & Caroline have swam with us some, as well as Constance & Luke. After watching Luke jump in off the diving board, Claudia decided she would too! I'm so proud! She did great and wasn't a bit afraid!  Swimming lessons next summer for sure!

Claudia: I think I can, I think I can!
(FYI: this is the best swimmer I have found, I think it's called Puddle Jumper?? Sold at WalMart & Dick's)

Yeah! I did it!

These were taken at the water splash pad.  Claudia loves going and Ella Claire just sat on the sidelines and chilled.  It's great once all the kids have started back to school.  It's not nearly as crowded.  She was even by herself for a little while that day.  Even Steven and I could stay cool just by being near the water.

Love this! Claudia in a rainbow!

I did it!  Though I don't know what she did =)

These are her favorite part at the splash pad.

Time is Flying!

Ella Claire is going to be 7 weeks old tomorrow!  I can't believe it has already been that long.  She is growing like a little weed and is turning into such a happy baby.  The first two weeks, I'm not sure "happy" would remotely be a word I would have used to describe Ella Claire.  But now she is happy just about all the time, which makes a world of difference at our house.  She is eating every 4 hours during the day and most of the time a little longer at night.  One night this week she ate at 12 midnight and then at almost 6am!  That was a good night!

Claudia is just loving her little sister.  I think she has decided that EC is staying so she might as well enjoy her.  She kisses and hugs on her constantly and loves to lay down beside her if I have Ella Claire in the floor.  She "helps" me do so much with Ella Claire and is going to be such a great big sister!  I am very proud of Claudia!  Below are some 6 week pictures of Ella Claire and a few of her and Claudia together over the last few weeks.  Both dresses that Ella Claire is wearing were mine.  The blue train dress my grandfather, Buddy, bought for me.  He passed away when I was two.  Claudia, Ella Claire, and I all wore it around 6 weeks of age.  I have been told that Buddy said I needed something besides pink to wear, so he bought me this blue checked dress.  I love it dearly.

As you can see, Ella Claire has her daddy's eyes, beautiful but large for her right now.  I guess she'll grow into them!  Up next will be all the fun stuff we've done in August so check back soon!  We've been busy!

Happy Birthday Nora!

One of our good friends, Nora, turned 2 this past week! She celebrated with a Cowgirl theme birthday party! It was fabulous! Her momma, Katie, put so much work into it from "Wanted" posters of Nora to homemade tablecloths, to the "Pop the Pig" activity. There was even caramel corn & sheriff pins as party favors and a cute cow birthday cake! Claudia had a great time! Most of the kids dressed up, so Claudia was excited for an excuse to wear her pink cowboy boots!  Steven stayed home with Ella Claire, so it was just me and Claudia.  I wasn't able to get a picture of everything, as I was chasing my rambunctious 2 year old around, but here are a few snapshots... (Most of the time I was trying to keep Claudia from opening Nora's presents)

Ella Claire Newborn Pictures

I know Ella Claire is already a month old but I wanted to put up a few newborn pictures we took of her.  She was right around a week old.  Tidbit of info: the McCarty pottery is Bev's shell bowl, the silver punch bowl is my mom's that she has pretty much already given me (it stays at my house anyway =) ), and the pink pearls are mine.  Enjoy!

Ella Claire Blaylock

Steven, Claudia, and I welcomed beautiful Ella Claire into our family on July 7, 2011 at 7:48 am.  She weighed 7 lbs. 4 oz. and was 19.5 in long.  She is perfect!!  Ella Claire is healthy and happy, so we are very thankful for our beautiful new blessing from God.  She is now a week old and just a growing!  She pretty much sleeps and eats.  She is a great eater! Which I love!  Sometimes she even sleeps the entire 3 to 4 ours between her feedings.  Oh, and she is Claudia's twin at birth.  It will be hard to tell their baby pictures apart!   We are just so grateful to have her here with us safe and sound.  Welcome to our family, Ella Claire!
